Over the last century, services and resources for those with intellectual disabilities, those experiencing mental illness or autism have been a controversial topic. This outstanding nonprofit organization was built on the belief that patients living at the Harrisburg State Hospital, in Pennsylvania, could live happier, more productive lives being supported in typical homes in the community. What started out as a small team of dedicated human service professionals, has now expanded to a core of over 3200 supporting over 6000 men, women and children in the U.S. as well as Moldova and Russia.
