Over the last century, services and resources for those with intellectual disabilities, those experiencing mental illness or autism have been a controversial topic. Part of society viewed these challenges as having negative influence on the quality of life for all. Thankfully today, through the hard work and dedication of many groups of people, the perception is much more positive and supports are in place to assist men, women and children with disabilities to live life as part of their community.

Since 1972, Keystone Human Services has been at the forefront as an agent of change, providing exceptional programs to enrich lives… not just simply for one demographic, but for all walks of life. This outstanding nonprofit organization was built on the belief that patients living at the Harrisburg State Hospital, in Pennsylvania, could live happier, more productive lives being supported in typical homes in the community. What started out as a small team of dedicated human service professionals, has now expanded to a core of over 3200 supporting over 6000 men, women and children in the U.S. as well as Moldova and Russia.

Keystone Human Services provides individualized services that enhance the life experience of each person they support. Whether a young child in the Birth-to-Three program or an aged man with mental illness Keystone professionals believe that all have value and dreams that should be respected.
