Since 1920, the Kansas Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired, a 501c3 non-profit organization, has strived to enhance the quality of life, the rights, the independence, and overall opportunity for all blind or visually impaired Kansans.

Through advocacy, fundraising, various awareness programs, and affiliation with the American Council of the Blind, KABVI has successfully united people with visual impairments and overcome the many challenges brought upon them.

KABVI’s positive effects over the years can be seen in enhanced rights for the blind and visually impaired, the establishment of the Kansas Business Enterprise Program, and enhanced voting accessibility to name a few. Perhaps, the most impressive accomplishment of KABVI is the way they have enriched the lives of so many people, while creating a booming awareness about the opportunities and the issues facing the blind or visually impaired.

From the scholarships to rehabilitation/consultation, assistive technology to computer refurbishing programs: KABVI aims to educate all of those in search of answers. With the recently developed site www.kabviyouthconnection.com, children, adults, parents, and teachers can connect with one another to interact, find resources, and unite their voices.
