Brillion, WI – Chrome's unique advantages make it one of the most popular automotive metallic finishes available, used for wheels, trim, accessories and other components to offer durability and an aesthetically-pleasing appearance.

For nearly 30 years Custom Plating Specialist has provided quality chroming and re-chroming for car and motorcycle parts. Lead by the husband-and-wife team of Terry and Mary Meetz, Custom Plating Specialist offers its restoration and customization services to clients all over the world.

"Our reputation shines through every piece of chrome we do,” says Terry Meetz.

Chrome plating is the technique of applying a thin layer of chromium onto a metal or plastic object. The chromed layer can be decorative, provide corrosion resistance, ease cleaning and increase surface hardness. Custom Plating Specialist offers custom chrome plating for cars, trucks, bikes, motorcycles and even pot belly stoves and jukeboxes

“Custom Plating Specialist evolved from my father’s body shop,” recalls Meetz. “He restored vintage Thunderbirds and other classic cars. We found our chrome jobs would get lost or delivered not to our specifications. My father said, ‘Why don’t you do it yourself?’ Today, our plating business evolved into its own thing that’s recognized worldwide.”

There are between 300 or 400 different jobs in progress at any given time in various stages of completion. Customers even include Custom Plating Specialist’s competitors. According to Meetz, a job is a job.

“I look at it like I’m a customer,” says Meetz. “People are willing to pay more money to get a better job. We go above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy because they need to be assured we’re going to do a good job on their parts, respect their property and deliver on time.”
