Richmond, CA – According to a study conducted by the University of Mississippi, wood not treated with some preservative will last only two years. When treated, however, that same wood will last 20-25 years, a dramatic difference.

Green Products Company (http://coppergreen.com) specializes in wood preservatives and paint removers for the consumer market. Their Copper-Green Wood Preservative is a household name and can be found in most Home Depot and Ace Hardware stores across the country.

“The name Copper-Green is synonymous with wood preservation,” says Guy Woods, owner of Green Products Company. “People will walk into a store and request Copper-Green.”

Wood preservatives prevent the premature deterioration of wood, especially outdoors where wood is exposed to the elements. Green Products Company also offers paint removers to medical supplies like rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide.

“People trust our products because they work,” says Woods. “That’s our passion, developing products that work.”

With a background in finance from San Francisco State University and considerable experience in mergers and acquisitions, Woods purchased the Green Products Company in 1991. Through the acquisition of the Copper-Green product line in 1993 and its subsequent success, Green Products Company has since expanded beyond the Bay area to Southern California and the Midwest.

With plans to expand their product line further, Green Products Company is in the final stages of developing its latest product, Green’s Clear Wood Preservative.

Says Woods: “There’s no interior preservative on the market to protect their wood from bugs and rot, so we’re extremely excited."
