She taught both elementary and high school English for four years before making the move into the world of broadcast journalism. From a morning radio slot at MIX 102.9 in Dallas, she entered television as the morning show anchor for KETK-TV in Tyler. From there, she went on to Austin, were she anchored the morning and noon newscasts for the CBS affiliate, KEYE-TV. After Austin, it was on to Los Angeles, where she worked for E! Entertainment,KCBS and KCAL. Her broadcast career brought her back home to Dallas where she reported for both CBS 11/TXA 21 News.
