Have we become a "Hater" culture or is this word over used?

Haters are very real but is celebrity culture making this a over used word? Is every one a hater because they don't like you? Do celebrities and people  use the word  hater to deny a fact that they may just suck at what they do? Do people in denial about their lives use this word has a cover?
