The days of June are now in the twenties this means that June is nearing its end and 2024 is approaching its halfway mark. This June in particular, it is claimed that climate changes has produced record high temperatures creating life threatening health conditions which in some cases turn fatal. With the Saturday Morning Entertainment Show,Caribbean Global Voices is here to keep you focused on the beautiful things we have to celebrate despite the adverse circumstances. June celebrates a lot of things but June 19 is becoming one of the most highly celebrated holidays in the United States. It is supposedly the date when enslaved African people were officially informed that the Emancipation proclamation had been issued and they were no longer compelled to serve the plantaions. Slavery was officially abolished. or was it? This deserves a conversation. So let's talk.

What is slavery? How is it defined? Did emancipation proclamations really abolish slavery? Would these proclamations be enough to end the enslavement of a people after almost four hundred years? Could the architects of enslavement fashoin the freedom of the enslaved? Can Black people achieve liberation when most Black people are mentally and psychologically dependent on the arrangement that enslaved them? Join the conversation or tell us what you want to talk about. We are always happy to hear from you.
