Passion is the theme for this issue and while I’d love to take credit for orchestrating this, it was hardly my doing. bUneke’s writers always write with passion, but this time, the word came out in so many articles, it made me stop for a moment to consider why that might be.
Passion is what motivates us to do the things we love. It’s as simple as that. Many people think passion is reserved for steamy romance novels and some mistake passion for a yearning kind of love. While it’s true that a passionate romance can keep a relationship alive, it’s also true that passion keeps people motivated to do more and be more. It’s a strong desire to create something extraordinary, whether that is a relationship, a career, or a nonprofit organization like bUneke.org.
Whenever you encounter a passionate person, you can be sure they have a strong sense of purpose and they believe they are meant to live a significant life. We founded bUneke on the idea that not only could we live our lives with significance, but we could teach you how to do that, too. This is why we are eager to work with veterans and beginning writers alike. We know that everyone started somewhere and every personal essay is filled with the author’s passion. Every how-to column contains someone’s enthusiasm for a particular subject and every feature is infused with someone’s desire to make the world a more peaceful planet.
If you are already living with passion, please, email mary@buneke.org and tell me what you’re doing. I’d love to share your passion with our audience. If you haven’t yet found your passion, or don’t know where to start, let me know. I’d love to explore options with you.
