"I'm an electric lampshade" is a heart warming and thought provoking true docu-narrative chronicling Doug McCorkle's journey from accountatn to EDM and pop music star. His rendition of Liliy Allen's song "The Fear" is hauntingly beautiful. In director John Clayton Doyle's hands, the tale of Doug's metamorphosis from aging businessman to flamboyant and strong performer is taken from a simple "it's never too late to change" story to this often hallucanegonic trip that thrills the viewer. Taking you from New York to the Phillipines and Mexico, with a supporting cast in the form of Doug's classmates at performing arts school, his former coworkers and of course his lovely, supporting wife, "I'm an electric lampshade" is definitely worth the cost of admission and deserving of accolades such as these...

"One of the more jaw-dropping debuts you'll ever see" Michael Fox KQED, San Fransisco

"Easily one of the best documentaries of the year. Doug McCorkle is my new hero" Yorkshire Magazine
