Building Fortunes Radio hosts Teenage Challenges with Cyberbullying with Greg Dwyer on Ryans Story.

Cyberbullying is a form of bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets (commonsensemedia.org). It can take many forms, including sending mean messages or threats, spreading rumors online, or posting hurtful comments on social media (commonsensemedia.org). Cyberbullying can have serious consequences for victims, including depression, anxiety, and even suicide (jaapl.org).

According to a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 14.9 percent of adolescents have been cyberbullied and 13.6 percent of adolescents have made a serious suicide attempt (jaapl.org). Students who are involved in bullying and cyberbullying (both offenders and victims) have a significantly elevated likelihood of experiencing suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, or completed suicide (jaapl.org). Cyberbullying is more strongly related to suicidal thoughts in children and adolescents than traditional bullying (medicalnewstoday.com).

It's important to recognize the signs of cyberbullying and take steps to prevent it. If you or someone you know is being cyberbullied, it's important to talk to a trusted adult or seek help from a mental health professional (commonsensemedia.org).
