Matthew 13:44
Today's message covers the 5th parables of Jesus' seven parables contained in Matthew 13.
Now Jesus called them the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven. Here in Matthew 13:44, our LORD Jesus tells us a short one verse parable about treasures: “Again, the kingdom of Heaven is like unto a treasure hid in a field, the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth the field.” So this man, walking through another's field uncovers a treasure.
And since it's not his filed he covers it back up and then goes and buys the field, and with the field he gets the treasure. Now remember that these parables are earthly stories with Heavenly meaning!
So let's look at the PROPER Biblical interpretation of this very earthy story and see what Jesus is telling us. Once again the usual message taught by many preachers is the wrong interpretation, yet I’ve heard it over and over again, but it is definitely wrong. Preachers say, “Well, the treasure, is the gospel and field's the Bible where the gospel is hidden. The man's a sinner who goes into the Bible and finds the treasure. Then he sells and gives up everything in order to be a Christian.”
So tune in to learn what Jesus was actually teaching in His 5th parable of 7 contained in Matthew 13!
