Psalm 42:5–11

Let's face it, for as exciting as Christmas may be for many it's also a time of deep deep depression for many others and some call it the holiday blues.

Now the experts claim it's due to not planning properly, family conflicts, striving for perfection, lack of sleep and even grief.

In Psalm 42:5 David talking to himself asks. “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me?” Now it’s obvious as we look at the rest of this Psalm that King David's in a state of despondency that we call depression.

And this isn't just feeling sad. We all feel sad at times and I’m not talking about being disturbed because we all get disturbed at times.

And we all have broken hearts, disappointments and faded dreams, those come to all of us, but that’s not a depression.

So David asked himself, “Why art thou cast down, O my soul?”

Now there are 3 basic Biblical truths in this message so be sure to tune in because I pray they will help us all to deal with The Holiday Blues:
