SDG 198 The Book of Revelation and The Report Card of The Churches

Revelation 2

In chapters 2 and 3, the Book of the Revelation, our LORD Jesus Christ gives seven messages to seven churches, what I like to call "The Report Card of the Churches".

Now, although these were literal and ancient churches from Asia Minor they also represent all churches of all times. 

So when our Lord gave these 7 messages to the seven churches, He said “"He that hath ears to hear, let him hear” (Revelation 2:7).   

So are you listening? 

But be sure not only to hear what the LORD Jesus Christ was saying to these 7 churches way back when, but what the Lord's saying to the church at large today.   

And not only to people in general, or en masse, but what He’s saying to each of us as individuals because the church is nothing more than the sum total of each one of us. 

So the degree to which we allow our lives to be filled and used of the Holy Spirit of God is the degree to which the church will please it's Groom, The King of kings and LORD of lords, Jesus Christ!

In this message we will look at the first three of these seven churches: Ephesus, Smyrna and Pergamos.

And then next week provided the LORD's willing we'll wrap this message up with a peek at Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea!
