THE HAMMER & ELLEN WELCOME INTO THE STUDIO, AUTHOR CLAYTON LUCAS

Clayton Lucas is a sixth generation native of Oklahoma, where he currently lives and serves as the City Manager of Sallisaw, his hometown. He has served in municipal government for more than 17 years, including as a police officer, firefighter and urban planner. Before earning a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Fresno State, Clayton lived in Venezuela for two years where he became fluent in Spanish.

Clayton and his wife, Lora, have five children, Clayton III, Jonah, Willie, Henry and Heather, two of which have Type 1 Diabetes. As a result, Clayton and Lora are advocates and supporters of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and any organization that furthers the efforts to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Clayton and his family love to travel internationally, participate in outdoor activities and spend time with family and friends. Iron Post Corner is Clayton’s debut novel.
