Nancy Schussel is just your average woman who suddenly finds it very hard to be in the outside world, because that world has seemed to change since her brain trauma. Physically, psychologically, and intellectually, the universe is suddenly producing major challenges everywhere she turns. Life is traditionally unexpected, but we do not expect the physical boundaries of our normal space to change, or our memory to simply go on vacation when we need it most.

Nancy has found the act of renegotiation herself with her world to has become the new normal. We are all growing older, so some blame that process, but a sudden change in our circumstances (in our world or in our person) is never ordinary. She finds that the act of rediscovering every common aspect of life is suddenly necessary.

None of us choose to be in a different world, but the process of finding oneself there, despite our attemps to be elsewhere, can be very disconcerting. Nancy will help us understand how a brain injury messes with every aspect of life and forces us to find new ways to cope. This is impossible for one to perfect these thoughts and challenges beforehand as these injuries are nearly always unexpected.

We have each been put in an essentially new universe and left alone to deal with it however we can. We can do better by understanding that we are not in this alone. If we see that these new phenomena are not new at all, but simply a rung in the ladder of the world which we all must climb, we realize others have done it, so we can too.
