Joining me will be Mat Blankenship of Firefighter Concussion Protocol. We will talk about the issues surrounding firefighters, including concussions, PTSD, and suicide. How are concussions currently managed and how does that need to change,  do they have certain protocols in place, and if so, what are they? What kinds of improvements can be made to this epidemic? This is sure to be an eye-opening episode. Mat began his fire service career in 1999. He served as Historian, Vice President and Fire Prevention Officer. In 2001, Mat was voted Firefighter of the Year. In 2015, Mat suffered a concussion, which is what has led him to raise awareness about the issues firefighters face when battling concussions.
