Matthew Brensilver, PhD will discuss the proper techniques, and the purpose of meditation. This activity is something we can all do singly or with others at any place or time. Meditation is known to increase concentration, focus, and relaxation. This can be especially helpful when one has become chronically scattered or unfocused due to a brain trauma. We all strive to quiet the spontaneous noises of the mind; and a focused talk on why meditation is productive and how it can be best utilized has the potential to help a wide variety of people. Matthew exudes calmness and centeredness, and as such, is a great role model for what he talks about.

I met him as the leader of a meditation talk at the local mindfulness organization. I wasn't sure if I'd find utility or meaning at this talk, but I decided to give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised; and I came away with a sense of having used my time well. Matthew is an effective teacher and this is a subject that may be universally practiced for a positive outcome. During this interview, he will discuss the necessary steps to prepare, the expectations, and results that we often see. Then, he will lead a short meditation session. Lastly, he will take any questions to clarify.
