Joel has spoken about TBI and recovery from grave illness on NPR, public Television and to audiences from Medical Societies to the NYS Assembly. Joel resides in New Paltz, NY with his wife, Reiki Master Dayle Groudine.

The Goldstein’s are in process of forming a foundation to explore and promote theuse of alternative therapies for brain injuries, The BART Foundation Bart Goldstein was adopted from Korea at age five months. 

He attended the nation’s largest Korean Heritage Camp, Camp Mujigae, from ages five though sixteen, as a camper, CIT and Junior Counselor. When almost 17, Bart suffered a severe traumatic brain injury in an auto accident.  He is the subject and hero of the No Stone Unturned (University of Nebraska Press), which recounts the family saga of his remarkable recovery from TBI.  He is a graduate of New Paltz High School and attended Maria College.  Currently he lives in his own apartment in Delmar, NY, works part-time, has made new friends, and moved on with his life. He contributes to awareness of TBI through advocacy in BIA NYS and Brain Injury Radio Network.  Recently he testified about alternative therapies before the NYS Assembly.
