How do you see yourself moving forward if your focus is on the past? Who keeps you down? Who picks you up? Who decides what gets to you? YOU DO!

The physical trials after surviving a brain injury we may not be able to always overcome. We may still have a cane, a walker, a wheelchair, some trouble speaking, walking or hearing but one thing we can control is our own happiness. We decide on what aggravates us, what keeps us down, and what bothers us. It's time to take control of our lives in a positive fashion.

Positive reinforcement and outlook is the only way to move ahead in life. We, as survivors, have had our bouts since our brain injuries but no one is to say life is over now. This is a subject that hits us at home but s a struggle all people go through in life. We decide on how things affect us. We can let things overcome our focus and willpower.

Why let the things we can't control overwhelm us instead of just controling the things we can- happiness.

Small rewards in brain injury rehabilitation lead to larger goals of accomplishment, self esteem, empowerment, and confidence. This affects our outlook, the way we portray ourselves to others, and helps our own bodies grow healthy to remain there. If anything to be happy about, we are alive!!!
