I don’t know about you but I need a motivational booster shot for those ambitious New Year’s resolutions and the Christmas season and ways to help prevent the holiday blues so you can start changing your life! Brain Injury and Mental health professionals have significantly underestimated the importance of lifestyle factors as contributors to and treatments for multiple psychopathologies, for fostering individual and social well-being, and for preserving and optimizing cognitive function. Now my question to you is what are you willing to do to change your circumstances? We often find ourselves comparing about our circumstances then get mad and soon after quit. He adds that "therapeutic lifestyle changes (TLCs) are underutilized despite considerable evidence of their effectiveness in both clinical and normal populations." Healthcare professionals are more likely to prescribe meds than to show their troubled, depressed, anxious and unhappy clients how to help themselves by changing the way they live. For that, we can thank America's obsession with quick and easy fixes, like popping a pill for whatever ails you, whether indigestion or the blahs. I want everyone to think of this as the greatest race of a life time and we can all be part of it so join me to help  start changing the World view on people with disabilities by taking charge of your own destiny now. So take a chance and help start a National and International dialogue to begin the discussion.
