Labels are defined as a small piece of paper, fabric, plastic, or similar material attached to an object and giving information about it. So what part of "Traumatic Brain Injury" could possibly provide information to those ignorant of them?
When I first acquired a TBI (w/personality changes) I had a family member who was a Registered Nurse, implore me not to share that information with anyone, as it would preclude me from acquiring employement. Did I just get an incurable contagious disease? What was this thing called  "TBI"? What was so TRAUMATIC about this Brain Injury was not how I acquired it, but the crap that followed. I was medically retired from the Marine Corps, unable to gain traditional employement due to this "TBI" and even had to get Professional Couseling just so the VA would pay for VocRehab. My home life sucked, for both my spouse and daughter, as I often lashed out at them for 'no reason'. Had I become what I abhored? Was I destined to a LIFE of labels and misperceptions of not just me, but what a Traumatic Brain Injury was about? Not anymore!
