My name is LPF and I am a Survivor. We are all survivors or we wouldn’t be here. Welcome to my fellow brain injury survivors, caregivers and health conscious listeners.

I survived a Traumatic Brain Injury in 1986, I was in what I guess could best be described as a high level coma for 7 days.  I only know what people tell me except for minutes here and there for the first year or so.  I guess I had to re-learn to move, breath, walk, talk, all body functions kinda like a new born (as I understand it).  As I began to function like the adult that housed my injured brain, I guess the ability of my brain was pretty good with motion and movement. Balance; I had difficulty with balance for years and every once in awhile I get off balance even today.

At one point someone told me or my parents not to expect me to regain much beyond the intelligence of an 8th grade student.

I never gave up and with the help of our Lord Jesus Christ I returned to college and have been a practicing Occupational Therapy Assistant, State Licensed and Certified aka COTA; for more than 20 years now!!!!! *** In my show I am sharing my personal views and life story, I will never give medical advice on this show. I invite everyone to take what you hear on my show as just another thought, maybe you will be inspired or motivated and that would be a blessing to me.  Maybe you will be frustrated or maybe you will disagree and that is all ok. We are all different. We all have different backgrounds, families, friends, circumstances and the internet is gives us a chance to hear and interact with others.

I will be airing audio that I have found that makes me happy; also, I will air audio from other brain injury survivors-these people have put their personal stories out of their own accord - to give back.
