Our brains operate very much like a radio. Research studies show that the brain uses different frequencies of waves to send different kinds of information, just like radio stations play songs and news on different frequencies. When we turn the knob to find a favorite station, we filter through different frequencies to get to that station; however, whenever the knob jams, then we're stuck with listening to static noise and mixed messages, which makes it difficult to understand. We then get distracted or sidetracked, fumbling with the dial to get a clear signal, and when we finally do get to the right station, we are already too tired and/or frustrated to listen and enjoy.

Sound familiar? Our brain injury is like that jammed dial...the trick is learning how to adjust that "knob" so that we can switch back and forth between those frequencies (strategies) efficiently and enjoy our favorite stations. Tune in and join Kevin as he will share how he zapped between many "stations" before finding the one that helped him embrace life with a brain injury. Please call in and share your "frequency."
