BRAIN INJURY DISABILITY RIGHTS

"nothing about us with out us"

There is lots of focus around disability rights and inclusion but many of us with brain Injuries rights are ignored, many decisions our made for us, and about us with out out us.  Survivors compared to other disability communities have not stood up for our selves  to be included in all aspects of our services and how others would define us.  So we the survivors and families of survivors of the world need to join, to define who we want to be seen as, how we let others define us and the how they will support us,

We must be sure we as survivors and families develop and define are rules and how services and organization benefit the community of survivors rather than organization, as we know organizations will come and go but we the survivors will always be here, and will always have each other.  Together we can change the future for better outcomes of all who will sustain a brain injury.

No one knows what we are going through unless they have lived with the hidden or silent epidemic (brain injury)

Help us support our selfs, We want to be included in our support and have a say in what supports are developed for us.  We the brain injuried eveywhere need to be seen not the agencies who serve us.  How together we can create the community of support we want.

Here is an example of what one area is doing to define what they want  and how they want to be seen as the community of brain injured persons, and will start the advocacy in how agencies and organizations give that support.
