Mike and Libby Robold join Annette Rochelle Aben for this segment of InTouch Interviews to talk about YOGA! Yoga provides a complimentary, non-competitive activity for athletes; strengthens and tones weakened muscles; improves range of motion and balance in tight bodies; brings relief & healing to those suffering from a variety of injuries and/or physical conditions (including arthritis, osteoporosis, back issues/injuries, weight problems, anger management, stress reduction, etc.); boosts the immune system, increases circulation & blood flow, etc. A detailed list of 77 benefits of yoga can be found in The Nursing School Catalog (www.nursingdegree.net). Over the past several years, in fact, yoga has experienced an upsurge in popularity among medical professionals in the western world.
On a personal level, the Robolds made a significant shift in our diet and lifestyle in our mid-twenties (further motivated by the accidental contamination of Michigan's cattle feed with the fire retardant PBB around 1973). Over the course of nearly forty years, we have read dozens of books on health & wellness, diet, yoga and Ayurveda, along with food preparation that included raw, vegan, vegetarian, organic (including over 30 years of organic gardening, juicing & sprouting), donated time and money to dozens of organizations working on behalf of the environment, fair trade, improved working conditions for people in third world countries, etc.
