Diamonds are arguably one of the most sought after elements on the planet. Diamonds are removed from their natural habitat, misshapen for alterior purposes, bought, stolen, obviously admired, has very few natural ways to be destroyed (except for other diamonds), and even mimicked. Shiny, well shaped stones get the most attention and are highly sought after for their remarkable spiritual qualities. They're kept locked away from others with only limited access to them.
