How did God deal with the river the Egyptians worshipped?  First of all, it must be noted that it was the Egyptians who first colored the Nile River with the blood of Hebrew babies. The scripture tells us that God turned their “ god” into blood.  In correlation to God’s judgment of the Nile River we will also read about water being turned into blood in Revelation 16:3-4.  Killing the Hebrew babies in the Nile River exposed how blood thirsty Pharoah and the Egyptian people had become, so God gave the Egyptians blood to drink.  Notice in verse 22 Pharoah’s magicians simulate turning water into blood which most likely refers to ponds and lakes.  How were Pharoah’s magicians able to do that?  It was done by God’s permission.  No nation had thirsted after blood as did the Egyptians, but the time did come when they had their fill of drinking it.  What can we draw from this passage?
