GENESIS 43:2 WAITING TOO LONG TO RESPOND TO GOD’S WILL.
2 So it came about when they had finished eating the grain which they had brought from Egypt, that their father said to them, "Go back, buy us a little food."
Man’s limitations is God’s opportunity. What do I mean by that? We are limited in what we can do in any situation which opens the door for us to turn to God for His grace to make up the difference. When we come to the end of our strength and resources, that in itself is a road sign designed to direct us to the will of God. This is especially true when the people that we are relying on for help do not themselves have the capacity or resources to lift us out of our circumstances.
Jacob’s only accomplishment by delaying God’s will for himself and his family was to exhaust the supply of grain he had gotten from Joseph. When we pay attention to the signs that reveal our own inadequacy, we learn that God’s way is satisfaction, and our own way constantly results in a hunger for relief from our uncomfortable circumstances.
