On June 26, 1978, the United States Supreme Court offered comfort and encouragement to a historically disadvantaged group of its citizens. It established the legal president of giving special consideration to African Americans in relations to education, and by extension employment opportunities as well as government contracting. Forty-five years later, on June 29, 2023, that same body deemed that original ruling unconstitutional due to the complaints of a new minority interest… Asian Americans. The latter jolt has caused many to worry about future opportunities for African Americans. Thus, for the oldest minority group in America, the question is what’s next for their push toward upward mobility?
