Sumerian culture meaning of word "Love"defined

The Sumerican word  for "love" is a compound verb which seems to mean literally "to measure the Earth,"   "to mete out a place"; just how this developed into the meanting "love" is uncertain, 

As is true of all mankindkind, love among the Sumerians was an emotion  which varied in character and intensity.
