a) Coherent - adjective: logical, reasoned, reasonable, rational, sound, cogent, consistent, consilient; clear, lucid, articulate; intelligible, comprehensible...... b) unclear, confused, unintelligible, incomprehensible, hard to follow, disjointed, disconnected, disordered, mixed up, garbled, jumbled, scrambled, muddled; rambling, wandering, disorganized, illogical; inarticulate, mumbling, slurred
1) Coherent light is light in which the photons are all in 'step' – in other words the change of phase within the beam occurs for all the photons at the same time. There are no abrupt phase changes within the beam. Light produced by lasers is both coherent and monochromatic (of one 'colour'). 2) There are two types of sources of waves. One is coherent source of waves and the other is incoherent source of waves. The sources and the waves are said to be coherent if they have the same frequencies, same wavelength, same speed, almost same amplitude and having no phase difference or a constant phase difference.
