Printice Hall history Pp 283. Romans Rule: they built roads, dams, aqueducts, and cities across North Africa. They developed its farmlands and imported lions and other fierce animals to do battle with gladiators. North Africa also provided soldiers for the Romans army. One of them, Septimius Severus, later became emperor of Rome ( history shows that the Etruscan king of Italy actually expand rule that included the little village they spend money on, bringing it up to a city, then called Rome. Did the Romans mentioned do work in Africa?   Further is stated that under Roman rule, Christianity spread  to  the cities of North Africa. St.Augustine, the most influential Christian thinker of the late Roman empire, was born in present day Algeria. From A.D. 395 to A.D. 430. Augustine was bishop of Hippo, a city near the ruins of ancient Carthage.
