When the BCE polytheitic civilization was crossed cultured in the western world; by the uncivilized A.D, anno domini new world order, I have not found record to indicate human society mention mental illness. So since humans have been on the planet, when did mental illness become as common ailment; and in what part of the world it stasted.  My observation found that Mental illness, disease, came to human society by the white Europeans hyposexual organized crime mafia mobsters, after their 509 BC coup de' tat, and their subsequent impersonating hoax rule over the African civilized society. The first mental asylum can be traced back as early as the 5th century in the Middle East. Prior to that, families who had members suffering from mental health disorders just kept their ill relatives at home. Even after the advent of the mental asylum, it really wasn't until the 18th and 19th centuries that urbanization allowed for greater access to these facilities. A psychiatric hospital in Aleppo, Syria, that operated from the 14th century into the 20th century.  The first psychiatric hospitals were built in the medieval Islamic world from the 8th to the science of Ayurveda was given by the Buddhist kings (400-200 BC). Development of lunatic asylums was apparent in the early colonial period."mental illness" dates from this period in the early 20th century. In the United States. In 1377, lunatics were moved from Stone House to Bethlem, one of the first psychiatric institutions.
