A 92-year-old woman was recently kicked out of a Georgia church she was a member of for more than 50 years for not paying tithes, reporreports WALB
First African Baptist Church, in Bainbridge, Ga., sent Josephine King a letter notifying her that she was no longer a member of the church due to her "non-support" financially and lack of physical participation. The letter was signed by Senior Pastor Derrick Mike. Family members of King said she had donated what she could to the church in the past and said membership shouldn't be decided based on money. As far as participation, King's family said she's been sick and unable to leave her home for several months. The church has not commented on the issue.
