Why the bible's fictional God did not want Adam and Eve to find out that they were naked? Did he intend to keep this level of knowledge about their nudity a secret forever? And what about giving them garments to protect against weather conditions? The rift here is over a clear fact: man has manipulated history so that subsequent generations accept what has been contrived to be true about God. You can't hold that God is all knowing, is everywhere at the same time, loving and forgiving, all wise, among other high attributes, and also accept that he behaves opposite to those proclivities. What do you make of the scripture where God reserves the right to have mercy on whomever he will, love some people while hating others, and is just and is just an arbitrary God? I don't see anyone who would like to live in heaven with a God who behaves in such contradictory ways. Once African history is omitted from being fact of human existence, truth makes an abrupt stop--and then the bible full of the Inquisition's evil doings come right into effect and the world is violent instantly!
