Florida and how the missed deadline in the 2012 Alan West recount was handled. - Quick Summary - In 2012, Alan West trailed Patrick Murphy by a few hundred votes at the close of voting in St. Lucie County, Florida’s 18th Congressional District. West won a fight to have the early voting ballots recounted in St. Lucie County and a recount was started on Saturday, Nov. 17, with a deadline for completing the recount by Noon, Sunday November 18.  The Port St. Lucie recount was NOT completed by the deadline and The Palm Beach Post said, “If the results do not arrive on time, the certified unofficial results submitted last Sunday stand.” So, why aren’t the original results of THIS election being used when Palm Beach County missed their election deadline?
